FIT HOLDING CO., LTD. (SHIH FONG POWER CO., LTD.)

Shih Fong Power is an affiliate of Shinfox Energy and a subsidiary of FIT Holdings. It’s mainly responsible for the operation and maintenance of hydropower plants. Shinfox Energy undertakes parts of electrical and mechanical engineering of Shih Fong Power’s FongPing River and Its Tributary Hydroelectric Project.

Development Plan

Investment: NT$ 5 billion.
Temporarily store the amount of water required by the power plant to generate electricity in a day.
Expected to complete grid connection by the end of 2024.
37,100 kW installed capacity expected (1st power plant: 18,100 kW; 2nd power plant: 19,000 kW).
Annual power generation is expected to be 200 MWh.

The life of a hydropower plant is expected to be 50 years (the life of a hydropower plant is nearly 100 years in reality).

The Small Hydropower in Taiwan Has the Potential for Development

According to the 2008 small hydropower assessment report offered by Water Resources Agency, MOEA, there were 79 sites having the potential for developing small hydro with over 460,000 kW installed capacity.
